Rosen Method Bodywork... Rosen Method Bodywork is a gentle, respectful, hands-on form of bodywork. Working with chronically tight muscles, Rosen Method Bodywork encourages physical and emotional awareness. In moments of deep relaxation, long held feelings and memories may surface and be spoken. Clients often become aware of choices they made early in life around which they have shaped their lives. When this awareness happens, they discover new possibilities for regaining freedom of movement and more authentic self-expression. Rosen Method Movement teaches people how to relax, have fun and watch the barriers we create against moving disappear. The movements encourage natural, free breathing, increase range of motion, and improve alignment and flexibility. Class participants can experience the deep significance of how the emotions are connected to the relaxation process. Moving to the rhythm of various types of music enhances the spontaneity and creativity that make Rosen Movement unique. |

Marion Rosen, the Founder of Rosen Method, was originally trained in relaxation and breathwork in her homeland of Germany in the late 1930s. Marion's teacher Lucy Heyer was a student of Elsa Gindler whose profound influence is seen today in the field of Somatics.
She very early became fascinated with the interconnection of our psyches and somas. She trained in physical therapy in Stockholm and at Mayo Clinic in the United States. To learn more about her life and work read: Interview with Marion Rosen |
